The Chinese delegation roster for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics has been announced, featuring bobsleigh athlete Wang Yu and skeleton athlete Liang Yuxin from Shaoxing, along with skeleton team coach Wang Xuexia, also from the city. Concurrently, local Shaoxing enterprise Qianyong Textile Co has secured a contract to produce the podium uniform prints for the Chinese delegation, utilizing its AI-powered digital printing technology.
The selection of Shaoxing athletes is the result of the city's sustained investment in winter sports development in recent years. Shaoxing has integrated winter sports into primary and secondary school curricula, attracting tens of thousands of students annually. A systematic talent cultivation system has been established, laying a solid foundation for identifying and developing athletes from diverse sporting backgrounds.
Beyond the competition venues, Qianyong Textile will contribute to Team China's Olympic journey with its core nylon digital direct printing technology. Having previously supported major events such as the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, and the Paris 2024 Olympics, the company has now addressed the industry challenge of printing on solid-color fabrics by incorporating AI image processing. This innovation has increased the first-pass yield for such fabrics to over 90 percent, ensuring precise color matching, consistent patterns, and unified color schemes for the podium uniforms, thereby showcasing Shaoxing's strength in textile technology and innovation.
