Shanxiahu town in Zhuji, Shaoxing — known as the "Pearl Capital of China" — took center stage at the 12th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show held from March 2 to 6, showcasing its rich industrial heritage and modern brand image.
More than 600 Shanxiahu pearl enterprises participated in the exhibition, showcasing an array of exquisite pieces — from masterfully crafted brooches and elegant necklaces to creatively designed earrings — and attracted numerous international buyers for business negotiations.
In recent years, Zhuji has promoted the internationalization, branding, and ecological development of its pearl industry, enhancing competitiveness through technological innovation, brand building, and cross-border e-commerce expansion. In 2025, the output value of the entire Shanxiahu pearl industry chain exceeded 50 billion yuan ($6.88 billion), with products exported to over 70 countries and regions, including the United States, Japan, and Russia.
This participation aims to expand Zhuji pearls' presence in global markets, while integrating South Sea, Akoya, Tahitian, and other seawater pearl resources to broaden consumer choices and strengthen the international influence of the "Pearl Capital of China."
