Shaoxing University adopts new Chinese name
Shaoxing University has adopted a new Chinese name, Shaoxing daxue, following approval from the Ministry of Education. Its English name remains Shaoxing University.
The newly renamed institution is a public university offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with a planned full-time enrollment of 19,000 students.

It was approved as a master's degree-granting institution in 2013 and was designated as a doctoral degree-granting candidate institution in 2022.
The university comprises multiple campuses, covering 2,493.71 mu (approximately 166 hectares), and houses 16 schools. It currently has over 19,000 full-time students and one affiliated hospital.
