Four overseas Chinese international cultural exchange bases in Wenzhou were recently given provincial level status, according to local media.

The four organizations are the World Wenzhounese Center, Ouyao Town in Yongjia county, Xiaguan town ancient street in Cangnan county, and the lounge bridge cultural park in Taishun county.

The total number of such organizations in Wenzhou currently stands at 16.

The organizations, which receive support from the Wenzhou Overseas Chinese Federation, are designed to carry forward Chinese culture and promote the mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

The World Wenzhounese Center, a 50,000-square-meter establishment, was put into operation by the Wenzhou municipal government in 2018 and serves as an integrated service platform for Wenzhou natives across the world.

A total of 217 associations run by Wenzhou natives residing in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan have opened offices there. The center has an integrated international publicity network and more than 40 overseas Chinese media agencies, 104 overseas city promotional officers, and 16 overseas service stations playing supportive roles.
