Percy David PaPa Akuetteh, a Ghanaian who has been studying and living in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province for 12 years, recently prepared a fensui banquet with his family to welcome the Chinese New Year.

He filmed his preparations for the most important dinner of the year, which is regarded by Wenzhou locals as a time for family reunion and is usually eaten on New Year's Eve. A total of 10 cold dishes, 10 hot dishes, and desserts like Chinese rice pudding or eight-treasure rice pudding, were served.

Akuetteh also invited his friends – Alexandra Dybrynina, a manager from Russia, and Alex Absolute, an online influencer from the United Kingdom, both of whom have been living in Wenzhou for several years – to share their insights into the local fensui banquet.

Zhu Ming, an expert on Wenzhou folklore, was also invited to offer a more thorough introduction of the history of and traditions behind the fensui banquet.
