When listening to the national anthem of the People's Republic of China or watching the Five-Starred Red Flag fluttering in the wind, have you ever wondered how the national flag was designed?

In this episode, we will follow Alexandra Dybrynina, a Russian senior manager who works at an American company in Wenzhou, on a visit to the Rui'an National Flag Education Museum and explore the story of China's national flag.

Rui'an has been committed to becoming national historical and cultural city in recent years, developing and protecting historical culture and combining traditional culture with modern elements.

The National Flag Education Museum, which opened in 2019, has four floors with a total area of 2,600 square meters.

At the museum, Dybrynina learned the story behind the design and creation of the flag. Zeng Liansong, the designer, drew inspiration from a melody in the Shanghai opera We cry out for the stars and the moon and created a five-starred flag showing four small stars encircling a big one.

She also learned about the symbolic meaning of each of the five stars on the flag.
