A cargo aircraft loaded with over 1,200 kilograms of frozen seafood from the Philippines recently arrived at Wenzhou Longwan International Airport.

This was the first batch of imported frozen seafood to enter Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, in 2023.

The frozen seafood was imported by Wenzhou Chuangtai International Trade Co Ltd, which is located in Ouhai district.

The district, which focuses on fresh imports, is playing an important role in boosting the city's foreign trade.

Thanks to direct international flights from Wenzhou Longwan International Airport and near-sea shipping lines to Southeast Asian countries, Ouhai district started importing fruits from Southeast Asian countries in 2020.

In 2022, the import value of fruits in the district was over 8.5 billion yuan ($1.25 billion). More than 230 flights containing fresh products worth over 20 million yuan have been imported to the district over the past year.
