The Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourist Area in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, saw about 835,000 visits during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, up 25.6 percent year-on-year.

Centered on Song Dynasty (960-1127) culture and local traditions, the scenic area launched a series of immersive events to enrich the holiday experience.

On the evening of Oct 6, a Song Dynasty-themed performance featured 26 performers dressed in exquisite costumes — from lantern-bearing maidens and fan-wielding scholars to armored guards.

Themed role-playing continued throughout the holiday, transforming the heritage site into an open-air stage and offering visitors a deeper cultural connection.

A representative from Quzhou Cultural Tourism Investment and Development Co said the city will continue launching creative cultural events to revitalize its ancient heritage and enhance immersive experiences.

Located in Quzhou's main urban area, the Quzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourist Area covers about 3.46 square kilometers. With a history of more than 1,800 years, the site integrates cultural study, interactive experiences, and ecological leisure, blending tradition with modern tourism appeal.
