International and domestic guests attending the United Nations World Tourism Organization's 2025 Best Tourism Villages awards ceremony had the chance to explore the scenic beauty and tourism-driven rural development in Anji county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The event drew over 120 international guests from countries including Italy, South Korea, and Indonesia, along with more than 50 domestic representatives.

In the morning, the visitors toured Yucun village. The misty autumn rain enhanced the allure of the Yucun Two Mountains Park, and the newly opened "Stepping into the World's Best Tourism Villages" exhibition at the Future Village Exhibition Hall captivated many, offering insights into Yucun's journey and dedication to sustainable tourism.

Guisela Ramirez from Guatemala said that she had heard of Yucun's recognition as one of the Best Tourism Villages in 2021, but seeing it in person exceeded her expectations.

At the Bamboo Impression Museum, an array of bamboo products, including chopsticks, bowls, and gift boxes, as part of Anji's initiative to replace plastic with bamboo, impressed the visitors. They also engaged in traditional crafts like bamboo weaving and fan making.

Participants also visited the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History Anji Branch, Anji Lejie Home Furnishing, and Dazhuyuan village, gaining deeper insights into Anji's innovative practices in sustainable rural tourism.

Sandra Carvao, chief of Tourism Intelligence, Policies and Competitiveness at the UN World Tourism Organization, highlighted China's commitment to using tourism as a tool for shared prosperity and boosting rural development.
