The upcoming Singles Day shopping festival has sparked a sales frenzy in Zhili town, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, one of the largest centers of children's clothing production in China.

The town hosts over 14,000 children's clothing businesses and more than 5,000 e-commerce companies, with its annual sales of children's clothing accounting for two-thirds of the national total.

Zhili currently dispatches over 7 million children's clothing items daily, with anticipated total sales during the Singles Day shopping festival potentially exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion).

In one of Zhili's livestream studios, a host is showcasing autumn and winter children's wear, highlighting features like upgraded stitching and anti-static linings. Meanwhile, packages are piling up outside, ready for dispatch.

Zhang Xiaotao, deputy general manager of Huzhou Yuguoguo Brand Management, said that the recent nationwide cold snap has boosted sales of winter coats. "With festival discounts, prices are very attractive, leading to over 100,000 orders shipped in the past week."

To manage this surge, companies have expanded and renovated studios, extending livestream hours. "We've prepared extra staff to ensure shipments within 48 hours," said Zhang.

As Singles Day shopping festival coincides with global shopping events like Black Friday, Zhili's cross-border e-commerce is thriving. According to Yan Lierong of Huzhou Nantongmo Garments, orders from Southeast Asia have increased by 50 percent since October, with Christmas-themed clothing in high demand.

Intelligent sorting lines also ensure swift packaging, promoting the town's digital transformation in the children's clothing industry.
