Beidouya Ski Resort in Suichang county of Lishui, Zhejiang province, officially opened on Jan 3 for the new snow season, welcoming its first group of visitors.

Hundreds of skiing enthusiasts and tourists gathered at the mountain peak, 1,200 meters above sea level, to revel in wintertime fun amid a silver-clad world of ice and snow.

The ski resort spans roughly 10,000 square meters. Its snow track stretches about 200 meters, with an average slope of 7 degrees, catering to skiers of all skill levels.

At the entrance, visitors lined up, many families eager for the experience. At the start of the track, professional coaches demonstrated smooth, controlled movements, while first-time skiers watched and practiced basic techniques.

In addition to the main ski track, the resort features a fun snow play area, attracting many families. Children enjoyed building snowmen and having snowball fights, while parents tried skiing under the guidance of instructors.

Ren Linyan, manager of the ski resort, said that preparations — including snowmaking, slope grooming, and facility checks — had been completed in advance to ensure safety and a smooth opening.
