Overseas Chinese share ideas for hometown development
During Lishui's two sessions, overseas Chinese representatives shared development suggestions for the city via a dedicated channel. As a renowned hometown for overseas Chinese with 473,000 nationals abroad, the city views its diaspora as a vital bridge.
Facilitating platforms and support
Xu Lei, president of the Association of Chinese Youth in Italy and chairman of Jomix Group, expressed appreciation for Lishui's support, advocating for a two-way platform that integrates global retail and warehouse resources to boost Lishui's exports and attract overseas industries and talent back.
Xu also advised setting up youth liaison stations in areas with newly established Lishui migrant communities to provide entrepreneurial support. Furthermore, he recommended tailored policies covering incubation and financing for returning entrepreneurs, as well as regular exchange events.
Integrating resources and culture
Wang Lei, secretary-general of the Qingtian Fellow Townsmen Association in Barcelona and chairman of Boheme Catering Group in Spain, advised utilizing the unique advantages of the diaspora and suggested innovating mechanisms to better channel overseas capital, technology, and projects back to Lishui.
Wang also highlighted the potential of using the business networks of overseas Chinese groups and cross-border e-commerce to promote Lishui's ecological agricultural and manufacturing products globally.
To sustain long-term connections, he emphasized strengthening ties with overseas Chinese language schools and associations to enhance cultural identity among younger generations. He affirmed his commitment to acting as a bridge for his hometown's development.
