China's first Huangjiu (yellow rice wine) Concept Validation Center has opened in Shaoxing Rice Wine Town, Shaoxing, injecting modern technological vitality into the traditional culture of huangjiu. The center comprises an exhibition hall, a functional laboratory, and a cultural and creative product exhibition and sales gallery. It has quickly established itself as a new landmark attraction at the entrance to the scenic area.
Inside the exhibition hall, a smart guided-tour robot provides visitor services, while a robotic arm bartending station can precisely whip up a huangjiu-based cocktail in two minutes, a gimmick that has proven popular with young visitors.
The Super Huangjiu Biochip Zone offers an immersive experience of the beverage's representative flavors through scent diffusers while displaying the scientific compounds behind them. The functional laboratory provides health testing, including a genetic alcohol metabolism assessment that helps consumers make more informed drinking decisions. Visitors can also view innovative products such as Chenpi Huangjiu (aged tangerine peel rice wine) in the cultural and creative gallery.
The center was jointly established last November by the Jiangnan University (Shaoxing) Industrial Technology Research Institute and the management committee of Shaoxing Rice Wine Town, with the aim of translating scientific research about huangjiu into practical, market-ready applications.
Moving forward, the center will continue to promote the personalized development and market segmentation of huangjiu products, using technological innovation to support the healthy development of the industry.
