Exhibitions across Zhejiang offer holiday options
During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, museums across Zhejiang province will present 244 themed exhibitions, offering residents and visitors a wide range of cultural options.
One of the flagship exhibitions is A Literary Legacy: Joint Exhibition on Jinshi Culture and Arts through the Ages, on display at the Zhijiang Branch of Zhejiang Provincial Museum.
The exhibition is divided into three sections. The first traces the origins of China's imperial examination system and the path to becoming a jinshi — those who passed the ultimate exam. The second highlights the contributions of jinshi across dynasties in fields such as philosophy, historiography, science, and education. The final section presents achievements in poetry, calligraphy, painting, and art theory from the Tang (618-907) to the Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. The exhibition runs through March 28.
