Zhoushan achieves key milestones in 2025

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province recorded a 6.6 percent year-on-year GDP increase in 2025, ranking first in the province.

The city's general public budget revenue rose by 5 percent year-on-year, while the added value from industrial enterprises above designated size — enterprises with annual revenue of at least 20 million yuan (about $3 million) — grew by 8.5 percent. Per capita disposable income for urban and rural residents rose by 4.4 percent and 5.2 percent year-on-year, respectively.

The city completed 300 key municipal projects, with a total investment of 98.17 billion yuan, achieving 109 percent of its planned target. Zhoushan also invested 24.6 billion yuan in comprehensive transportation, marking the third consecutive year its investments have exceeded 20 billion yuan.

The total output value of industrial enterprises above the designated size reached 441.7 billion yuan, with the shipbuilding industry accounting for more than 20 percent of global completed shipbuilding. The city's total installed power capacity exceeded 10 million kilowatts, marking its transition from a net importer to a net exporter of electricity.

Moreover, the city welcomed 24.14 million tourists, with tourism revenue increasing by 12.8 percent year-on-year.
