Lishui is advancing a year-round ice and snow tourism economy, transforming from its focus on a single winter sport into an integrated industrial model.

Through top-level design, innovative formats, and infrastructure upgrades, the city in Southwest Zhejiang is fostering a sustainable ice and snow economy suitable for all seasons.

At the Beidouya Ski Resort in Suichang county, winter sports enthusiasts gather on its 400-meter slopes. As the largest outdoor ski resort in Zhejiang, it can accommodate more than 1,000 visitors at a time.

Leveraging its high-altitude advantage, the site is developing a complementary model combining winter skiing with summer retreats.

In Liandu district, Nanming Lake Ice and Snow World offers an indoor alternative. Covering 180 mu (12 hectares) with an investment of 2.5 billion yuan ($361.75 million), it stands as the largest ice and snow complex in Southwest Zhejiang.

Its marketing director said that internationally advanced refrigeration and snowmaking equipment produce moderately soft powder, ensuring smooth skiing and enhanced safety during falls. This facility allows people to enjoy ice and snow activities all year round, regardless of the weather.

Lishui is now building a unique ice and snow brand. It adheres to product innovation, service upgrades, and cultural exploration. Meanwhile, consumer subsidies, events, and improved transportation are boosting public engagement, turning ice and snow resources into vibrant economic growth.
