Ningbo-Zhoushan Port reported record-breaking performance in the first quarter, with both container throughput and total cargo volume reaching historic highs for the same period.
Leveraging its extensive global logistics network, the port handled over 10 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers in the first quarter, ranking among the fastest-growing major coastal ports in China.
Bulk commodity operations also remained stable and well-structured. Key port areas such as Chuanshan and Daxie operated at full capacity, with iron ore and crude oil throughput each exceeding 10 million metric tons, ensuring a reliable supply for the steel and petrochemical industries across the Yangtze River Delta.
Behind this strong performance lies the integrated development of Zhejiang's port system. In response to global uncertainties, the port has optimized resource allocation and introduced priority services for affected shipping routes, including expedited cargo handling. These measures have significantly improved efficiency, shortened vessel turnaround time, and helped keep supply chains running smoothly.
