Ahead of the Green and Sustainable Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, a delegation of foreign media visited Anji county in Huzhou on April 27, gaining insights into Anji's practices in promoting green and sustainable development.
The tour began in Yucun village, the birthplace of the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". The delegation visited the village's visitor center, Future Countryside Exhibition Hall, rural cinema, and more. These sites highlighted Yucun's shift from extensive development to an ecology-driven model, demonstrating how the concept has been put into practice by balancing environmental protection with economic growth.
Mussulmonkul Sodikov, editor-in-chief of the Uzbekistan National News Agency, praised Anji's efforts to improve ecological and economic conditions, noting that its experiences are worth sharing.
The delegation also visited Dazhuyuan village, where ecological value and local industries come together, showcasing picturesque landscapes that captivated visitors.
At the Bamboo as Substitute for Plastic Exhibition Center, Anji's innovative use of bamboo resources to replace plastic was highlighted. The center displayed bamboo products, showcasing local innovative practices in green, low-carbon development.
The visit concluded at Xiaoyin Banri Village, a resort area themed around rural tourism, where art, culture, and innovative businesses drive rural vitalization.
