Ningbo hosted three parallel sessions of the Green and Sustainable Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), bringing together global guests to explore green cooperation, biodiversity protection, and technology-driven transformation.
Ningbo's message was clear: act early, act together, and innovate for the future. Local enterprises showcased how a green transition can become a competitive edge.
Aux Group, for instance, has built a full-chain green manufacturing system that integrates renewable energy and digital energy management to reduce emissions and improve efficiency. Meanwhile, Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group is advancing low-carbon mobility through methanol fuel, with its zero-carbon methanol plant and large-scale vehicle deployment highlighting a viable path to cleaner transport.
The forum also highlighted the importance of biodiversity protection through inclusive governance. From the recovery of snow leopards in Central Asia to the revival of Tibetan antelope populations in China, real-world stories underscore global progress. Ningbo itself has contributed with integrated ecological monitoring and long-term conservation efforts, including the protection of endangered bird species and marine wildlife.
Innovation remains the city's driving force. Jinko Solar, headquartered in Ningbo, continues to break efficiency records in solar technology, helping lower global clean energy costs. With a rapidly growing renewable energy sector and strong high-tech industry clusters, Ningbo is positioning itself as a leader in green transformation.
Through openness, collaboration, and innovation, the city is turning its green vision into a global reality.
