Lishui receives over 1.16 million May Day visits

Lishui in Zhejiang province recorded more than 1.16 million visits during this year's May Day holiday, a year-on-year increase of 2.18 percent. Overnight visits totaled 761,900, up 2.01 percent, accounting for 65.32 percent of Lishui's total visits and ranking second in Zhejiang province.

Intra-provincial tourists, mainly from Wenzhou, Hangzhou, and Jinhua, remained the city's main source with 923,100 visits, accounting for 79.13 percent of the total. Out-of-province visitors, mostly from Shanghai, Jiangsu province, and Fujian province, reached 243,400, representing 20.87 percent of all visits. Nearly half of all visitors were aged 23 to 45.

The city's 23 scenic spots at 4A level and above received a total of 774,300 visits, with the top three attractions being Yunhe rice terraces, Guyan Huaxiang, and Jinyun Xiandu scenic area.

The average occupancy rate for 50 hotels was 74.20 percent, and for 41 high-end homestays, 82.92 percent.

Lishui launched a variety of cultural and tourism activities and immersive experiences, extending visitor stays and boosting overnight visits and secondary consumption. Local cuisine was also a big tourist draw alongside integrated intangible heritage performances, sports events, and rural getaways.

The city provided scenic spot passes, hotel-scenic spot joint deals, and travel vouchers. Among these, Songyang county offers 2,766 free parking spaces, along with shuttle buses and volunteer services.
