Asia Express, a globally popular reality TV show produced by Belgium's Eccholine, shot at the Family Temple of Confucius in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on May 9, incorporating elements of Confucian culture into its episodes.

Quzhou, known as the "Home of Southern Confucianism", has deep roots in Confucian culture. Over 800 years ago, descendants of Confucius moved south and settled in Quzhou, establishing the city as a center of Confucian thought.

As a travel and adventure reality competition, Asia Express challenges contestants to navigate unfamiliar countries in Asia under extreme budget constraints and without communication tools, resorting to hitchhiking and completing various tasks to immerse themselves in local culture and history. Since its debut in 2003, the show has produced over 500 episodes and aired in 17 countries worldwide.

This season, the show embarks on a journey of exploration in China, covering nearly 200 locations across 12 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. The series will culminate in more than 96 hours of content, set to air over eight consecutive weeks on major European platforms starting in September.

"In Romania, we also study philosophy, so most of the Romanians know who is Confucius. That's why we choose to shoot here and to have so many Confucius words," said Andrei-Valentin Hangiu, the show's production manager. "We show Romanians the Chinese culture and everything that we discover here."
