Quzhou, a city in East China's Zhejiang province, experienced a significant rise in inbound tourism from January to April, with the number of overnight inbound visits increasing by 74.71 percent year-on-year and international tourism revenue up by 73.73 percent.

Quzhou is becoming a popular inbound tourism destination. "The city now welcomes an average of six inbound tour groups daily," said Yang Jun, deputy director of the market management division of the Quzhou municipal culture and tourism bureau.

To boost inbound tourism, Quzhou has launched the upgraded Global Free Tours in Quzhou initiative, extending the free admission period for its 14 core scenic spots from five to 12 months annually.

Utilizing its strategic location bordering Fujian, Jiangxi, and Anhui provinces, Quzhou has collaborated with leading travel agencies in surrounding areas to tap into the inbound tourism market. In March, three large tour groups, each exceeding 5,000 visitors, contributed to a surge in first-quarter arrivals.

Liao Xin, general manager of Quzhou Everbright Tourism, said the company reported hosting over 300 inbound tour groups from regions including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong this year. Tourists have praised Quzhou's attractions, accommodations, and cuisine, particularly the ancient city's nightscape and spicy dishes, he added.

To enhance experience for inbound tourists, Quzhou has introduced thematic travel routes and improved services, including flexible transport solutions and multilingual support. The city also facilitates convenient payment options and currency exchange services for foreign visitors.
