A range of specialty agricultural products from East China's Zhejiang province was showcased at a hometown market carnival held at Victoria Park in Hong Kong from June 3 to 7, with Xianju waxberries from Taizhou emerging as one of the most popular items among visitors.

The event featured more than 370 booths from across the Chinese mainland and included four main zones focusing on local products, regional cuisine, cultural performances, and technology showcases. Traditional folk performances were staged alongside modern forms of entertainment such as robot bands.

Zhejiang participated in the event with 32 local specialties, including West Lake Longjing and Qingyuan mushrooms. Its exhibition area saw strong visitor traffic, with fresh seasonal products such as Xianju waxberries drawing particular attention. Free tasting sessions and on-site promotions were held throughout the event, with many Hong Kong residents expressing interest in purchasing the products.

On June 3, members of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region visited the Zhejiang booth and sampled Xianju waxberries, praising their taste and quality. Xianju county in Taizhou is known for producing the fruit, which is recognized as a geographical indication product and has already been exported to overseas markets.
