In the first five months of this year, the Zhejiang China-Europe train service, or Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe (YXE) train service, operated 879 outbound trains, exporting 71,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), a 15.7 percent year-on-year increase.
The service is shifting from "quantity" to "quality," with increased frequency and upgraded cargo structure. Initially focused on everyday goods and textiles, the trains now include high-value products such as photovoltaic components and smart appliances.
Business is evolving with new multimodal models in the Hangzhou Customs area, combining rail, road, and sea transport to reduce transit and handling times, streamline customs procedures, and lower logistics costs.
This provides Zhejiang manufacturers with new logistics options and strengthens the China-Europe train assembly center's multimodal transport foundation by integrating resources from the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.
The Zhejiang China-Europe train service now operates 27 stable routes, reaching over 160 cities in more than 50 countries and regions across Eurasia. It also leads in export volume within the YRD region and serves as a vital logistics channel for Zhejiang's exports to Belt and Road Initiative countries.
