As the Quzhou division of the 2026 Zhejiang City Basketball League — known as "ZheBA" — is set to commence, NBA superstar Paul George has cheered on the participants of the ZheBA Quzhou division via video.
"I know the ZheBA is going on, so I'm rooting for Quzhou," George said in the video.
Known as the largest and most prestigious amateur basketball event in the province, the ZheBA league opens in late June and runs through January 2027. The competition includes city-level qualifiers and the provincial championship.
City-level qualifiers will continue to cover all 90 counties, county-level cities, and districts across Zhejiang. All city-level qualifiers must finish by Aug 23. The top team from each prefecture-level city will advance directly to the provincial championship.
The runner-up teams from six populous cities — Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jinhua, Taizhou, and Jiaxing — will also qualify.
Each prefecture-level city may also form a select team from other participating counties, county-level cities, and districts under its jurisdiction.
The Quzhou division qualifiers will kick off on June 27 and run until mid-August. Matches will be held across various counties, county-level cities, and districts, with teams from Kecheng district, Qujiang district, Jiangshan county-level city, Longyou county, Changshan county, and Kaihua county showcasing top-level competition.
