Kaihua Airport in Quzhou commences operations
Kaihua Airport in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, commenced operations on June 26, marking a significant milestone in the region's aviation development.
As one of Zhejiang's 11 regional general airports, Kaihua Airport is the first general airport in Quzhou and the first A2-class general airport in a mountainous county in the province. The project represents a total investment of about 860 million yuan ($126.43 million).
Located in Luofeng village, Huabu town, Kaihua county, the airport features an 800-meter-long and 30-meter-wide runway. It is equipped with a main building, hangar, special vehicle garage, and power center, capable of supporting regular operations for various aircraft, including fixed-wing planes and helicopters.

Following its inauguration, the airport will offer short-haul transport, flight school training, skydiving, and pilot training services.
Furthermore, it will serve as a critical node for inter-provincial aviation routes between Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Anhui provinces, enhancing the low-altitude aviation network in West Zhejiang. It has also been designated as one of the province's 10 aviation rescue standby bases.
Simultaneously, the Kaihua Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park, located south of the airport, is under development. This park will incorporate comprehensive exhibition, manufacturing, logistics, maintenance training, and service zones, fostering economic growth and accelerating development in West Zhejiang's mountainous regions.
