Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, Zhejiang province, has launched 48 co-branded cultural and creative products themed around the 2026 Zhejiang City Basketball League, known as "ZheBA", blending its millennia-old sword and celadon heritage with the excitement of the sporting event.
The city has brought together 19 partners across design, production, and sales to form a full industry chain from cultural brand licensing to creative design and product delivery.
The championship trophy, medals, and souvenirs for the inaugural league were all crafted by Longquan's sword and celadon artisans. The collection includes 5,595 items across 20 categories.
This year, the official collaboration has expanded to include lifestyle products such as jewelry, incense holders, and decorative ornaments, appealing to younger consumers. The products are sold both online and offline.
Among the best-selling products is a sword-shaped pendant featuring the league logo, which has sold over 2,000 sets, according to its designer.
Another popular item, a cup made of Longquan celadon, is inspired by lines on the basketball and finished in grey or pale celadon glaze. It has sold more than 3,000 units, generating over 500,000 yuan ($73,543.15) in sales.
Leveraging the popularity of "ZheBA", Longquan will promote the industrialization of celadon and sword crafts, help local small and medium-sized enterprises expand their markets, introduce more people to its millennia-old craftsmanship, and foster both cultural vitality and industrial growth while creating a distinctive model for integrating sports and industry.
