A new sea sightseeing route around Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, began operation on July 7, offering visitors a new way to experience the island's coastal scenery and cultural heritage.

At 9:50 am, the Xin Jin Ping vessel departed from Wugongzhi Wharf on Zhujiajian Island, marking the launch of the route. Passengers traveled across Lianhua Ocean, taking in views of landmarks including Luojia Mountain, Qianbusha Beach, and Fanyin Cave from the sea.

Beyond the scenery, the voyage features cultural experiences including guzheng (Chinese zither) performances, Dunhuang-inspired dances, calligraphy activities, and traditional fishing-rope knot workshops, with themed coffee and cultural products also available.

The new route is part of Zhoushan's efforts to develop integrated water-based tourism and create new coastal travel products. The Xin Jin Ping vessel, equipped with an observation deck, will operate daily during the summer travel season before shifting to charter services in autumn.
