Athlete Wang Nan from Qingyuan county in Lishui, Zhejiang province, secured her third straight women's 500-meter kayak four (K4) victory at the 2026 International Canoe Federation (ICF) Canoe Sprint World Cup in Montreal, Canada. The gold medal was also the first of the event.

Earlier this season, China had already won the same category in Szeged, Hungary, and Brandenburg, Germany.

In Montreal, Wang and her teammates withstood strong challenges from overseas rivals, maintained their competitive form, and topped the podium once again, completing a clean sweep of all three World Cup races in the women's K4 500 m this year.

The three consecutive international competitions helped Wang refine her paddling technique, enhance her team coordination abilities, and adapt to overseas racing rhythms. These experiences have served as valuable preparations for the Los Angeles Olympic cycle.

Wang's journey to the top began in Qingyuan and has shone on the world stage. Born in 2000 in Yushang township, she was named a national elite athlete in 2016 and an international elite athlete in 2019.

Her major titles include golds in women's K2 500 m and K4 500 m at the Hangzhou Asian Games, women's K1 500 m at the 2024 ICF Hangzhou Super Cup, women's K1 200 m at the 2025 World Championships, and women's K1 500 m at the 15th National Games.
