The 2026 BNU Philosophy Summer School & Summer Social Practice Program was held in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, from July 19 to 22, bringing together students and scholars from China and overseas to explore Chinese Confucian culture and traditions.

More than 60 participants, including young international sinologists from 22 countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Pakistan, as well as students and faculty members from Beijing Normal University, took part in the four-day program.

During their visit, participants explored sites including the Family Temple of Confucius in Quzhou, the Chinese Confucianism Museum, the Shuitingmen historical and cultural block, Yingchuan ancient village, and Meigao Short Drama Super Factory. They also experienced traditional crafts such as rubbing techniques, calligraphy, sesame cake making, and porcelain production.

At the Chinese Confucianism Museum, participants learned about the origins, development, and inheritance of Confucian thought. Nacinovic Antonio from Croatia said the visit helped him better understand Confucius' contributions to philosophy and education.

The Family Temple of Confucius in Quzhou, established after Confucius' descendants moved south, preserves more than 800 years of the cultural heritage of Southern Confucianism. South Korean participant Kim Seung Man said the visit deepened his understanding of Confucian culture and Chinese history.
