Tianxiangwan Scenic Area in Huayuan village, Dongyang — a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province — launched its upgraded Lantern Fair on July 30. The event will run for a month, nightly from 4 pm to 10 pm.
Visitors can wander through a revamped garden featuring large theme lanterns scattered across flower fields, pathways, and lawns. The highlight is the "Starry Grain Maiden" lantern display, showcasing a girl with two golden braids, a straw hat decorated with butterflies and sunflowers, amid tulip and lotus lanterns.

The scenic area comprises various themed zones, ranging from traditional Chinese styles to playful and modern designs. The "Fairy Tale Insect Kingdom" zone showcases glowing ants, vibrant butterflies, and oversized snails, fostering a vibrant rural ambiance. Additional attractions such as the opera mask tunnel and foggy forest appeal to visitors of all ages.
Lu Yadi, general manager of Huayuan Tourism Development, highlighted that the festival offers more than just lanterns. It includes daytime flower displays, nighttime lanterns, and continuous performances, offering a full-day experience. A fireworks waterfall, food market, and campfire party add excitement every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The recreation area is also open. A viewing platform offers panoramic views, while attractions like a glass water slide provide thrills and a climbing park caters to families.
