The 2026 National Youth Baseball Championship (U10) and National Primary School Baseball Training Camp opened in Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 1, bringing together a record 68 teams and more than 1,000 young players from all over China.

The 19-day tournament takes place at the Xujiadai International Baseball Stadium in Lindai town, known as "China's No 1 Baseball Village." The competition features separate club and school divisions and is the largest edition of the event since its launch.

Open since June last year, the stadium can host six games simultaneously, attracting more national baseball events to the town.

Teams from across the country praised the venue's professional facilities and organization. The tournament also provides valuable opportunities for young players to compete and gain experience while reflecting the growing popularity of baseball in China.

To further enhance the experience, local authorities have partnered with tourism agencies and businesses to offer discounts on hotels, restaurants, attractions, and local products for participating families. Hotels reported higher occupancy during the tournament, while local farms and businesses expect increased visitor spending.

Over 10 more baseball tournaments are planned in Xujiadai later this year, as the town expands its sports tourism and youth baseball programs.
