A romantic French "love letter" will arrive in Ningbo this September, as acclaimed French musical theater performer Laurent Ban brings his Thousand Layers of Love concert to the city.

The concert will take place at Ningbo Grand Theater on Sept 2, bringing an evening of captivating French melodies and theatrical artistry to local audiences.

Launched in Chongqing on Aug 9, the nationwide tour has already won widespread acclaim. Unlike Ban's role-based performances in classic musicals, Thousand Layers of Love offers a more personal form of expression. Taking on the role of storyteller, he blends songs with stories from his own life, turning the concert into a musical autobiography. Each melody reflects a chapter in his journey, creating an intimate and emotionally engaging experience.

Ban has also built a strong connection with Chinese audiences over more than two decades. Since his first performance in China in 2005, he has actively promoted cultural exchange between France and China through music and theater.

The Ningbo program will feature selections from The Little Prince, Notre-Dame de Paris, The Red and the Black, Mozart, l'Opera Rock, and other acclaimed productions, alongside guest performances by three international musical theater artists.

On Sept 2, Ningbo audiences are invited to open this musical "love letter" and experience the warmth and magic of French theater firsthand.
