High-end homestays drive tourism in Pan'an

Shuangxi township in Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, is transforming its homestay sector from quantity-driven expansion to quality-focused development thanks to its ecological assets and cherry blossom resources.

Panshan Yunyin Homestay is one example of this shift toward higher-quality, experience-driven stays.

The second phase of Panshan Yunyin Homestay is now in internal trial stays. The new wing adds 15 rooms with indoor swimming pools, spacious terraces, or constant-temperature hot springs, complementing the existing 14 rooms that consistently sell out. A third phase is already in planning, featuring a library for art exhibitions and lectures, plus a helicopter pad.

The success of Panshan Yunyin has spurred neighboring villages to upgrade their own offerings. In Xitang, workers are crafting boutique lodgings that blend traditional white-walled, black-tiled aesthetics with modern touches. Meanwhile, the Cherry Blossom Park's enhancement has drawn several new homestays in Yinghua village this year, including the Yinyuan Homestay, which offers refined amenities and an elegant environment.

The township is also diversifying its tourism calendar, with annual cherry blossom events that have evolved into immersive experiences and competitions like paddleboard races and cycling hill climbs, aiming to extend the tourist season from blossoms to year-round weekend getaways.
