Zhejiang's trade with other BRICS members reached 749.51 billion yuan ($111.70 billion) in the first eight months of 2026, ranking first among China's provincial-level regions, according to Hangzhou Customs.

More than 60,000 Zhejiang companies traded with other BRICS members during the period, accounting for 44.9 percent of the province's import-export enterprises.

Zhejiang's trade with other BRICS members rose from 587.87 billion yuan in 2020 to 1.13 trillion yuan in 2025, representing average annual growth of 14 percent.

Overall, Zhejiang's foreign trade reached 3.99 trillion yuan in the first eight months, up 8.3 percent year-on-year. Exports rose 8.6 percent to 3.03 trillion yuan, while imports increased 7.3 percent to 954.18 billion yuan. The province ranked third nationwide in total trade and exports and sixth in imports.

A total of 136,910 Zhejiang companies recorded import-export activity during the period, up 17 percent and already exceeding the total for all of 2025. Private enterprises recorded 3.30 trillion yuan in trade, up 9.1 percent and accounting for 82.6 percent of the provincial total.

Exports under Zhejiang companies' own brands rose 22.2 percent to 533.16 billion yuan, accounting for 17.6 percent of total exports, up 1.9 percentage points from a year earlier.
