The Zhejiang Wuju Opera Research Institute (Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe) from Jinhua, Zhejiang province, took to the stage on Sept 13 at the Brest Academic Drama Theater in Belarus. As the only Chinese troupe invited to the 30th "White Tower" International Theater Festival, they performed the Wuju Opera classic Three Battles with the White-boned Demon.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the festival brought together art groups from multiple countries, with Wuju Opera captivating audiences with stunning martial arts and vivid storytelling, bridging language barriers to showcase the allure of traditional Chinese opera.

The performers incorporated Russian language and local elements, like Belarusian potato pancakes, delighting the audience and concluding with a standing ovation and over 10 minutes of applause that demonstrated their appreciation for the Chinese art.

The Zhejiang Wuju Opera Troupe also performed a special show at the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater in Minsk on Sept 11, before heading to Brest for the festival.

Beyond the theater performances, the troupe conducted workshops, art exchange lectures, and other cultural events, promoting Wuju Opera, a national intangible cultural heritage, on the global stage and deepening cultural exchange between China and Belarus.
