The Wuzhou Confucius Cultural Week launched on Sept 28 in Juxi village, Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, marking the 2,577th anniversary of Confucius' birth.

As the largest settlement of Confucius' descendants in Jiangnan (the area south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River), Juxi village hosts one of only three Confucius ancestral temples in China, making it a living testament to Confucian heritage.

Pan'an county has prioritized preserving and revitalizing Confucian culture by establishing the Wuzhou Confucius Cultural Development Center, hosting the Confucius Memorial Ceremony, and cooperating with other cities and institutions to preserve Confucian culture.

The opening ceremony featured the establishment of the Nishan Rural Confucianism Research and Promotion Center. At the same time, local schools held an event where students recited Confucian texts.

At the Confucius Ancestral Temple, the Wuzhou Southern Confucius Memorial Ceremony, a provincial intangible cultural heritage event, drew guests, descendants, students, and international scholars.

Visitors to Juxi village can enjoy live performances that bring Confucian history to life. The Cultural Week continues until Oct 7, offering opera performances, art exhibitions, and cultural experiences.
