A new international air cargo route connecting Ningbo and Mexico City, the first cargo route between Ningbo airport and Mexico, is opening a new logistics channel between the city and Latin America.

Operated by Connie Airlines, flight K4960 arrived at Ningbo Lishe International Airport from Mexico City on Oct 29 before returning in the early hours of Oct 30. The round trip takes approximately 46 hours, with a maximum cargo capacity of 110 metric tons per leg.

The inaugural flight carried 105 tons of goods, including clothing, phone accessories, and electrical cables. Cross-border e-commerce parcels accounted for around 60 percent of the shipment.

The inbound flight travels via Anchorage, Alaska, while the return journey stops in Incheon, South Korea, and Anchorage.

Mexico City, a major logistics hub in Mexico, also provides access to markets across Latin America, including Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Brazil. The new service is expected to help manufacturers and e-commerce businesses in the Yangtze River Delta and southern China reach these markets more efficiently.

Liang Sheng, general manager of Ningbo Longway Logistics Co, said the company plans to deepen cooperation with airline and charter partners and explore regular operations as cargo demand grows.

Ningbo Airport Customs has supported 11 international cargo routes so far this year. In the first three quarters of 2026, Ningbo Airport handled 1,583 inbound and outbound cargo flights, with connections to major freight hubs in East Asia, South Asia, Europe, and North America.
