The 2026 China-Africa Agricultural Science and Technology Cooperation and Exchange Forum will be held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, this November, allowing participants to tour the China-Africa (Jinhua) Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Park, where robots, sensors, unmanned machinery, and AI systems work together in smart farming.
At the park's aquatic plant germplasm innovation center, a humanoid robot introduces the center's basic information: more than 2,000 aquatic vegetable germplasm resources and over 40 new varieties of water bamboo, lotus, and water caltrop.
In the smart display area, a rail-mounted phenotyping device scans plant canopies while underwater cameras monitor stems, with water quality sensors and unmanned vehicles patrolling simultaneously. Data is gathered and AI controls aeration, temperature, fertilization, and harvesting.
At the smart breeding center, drones, unmanned vehicles, and cabinet devices feed data into one system that combines climate, crop growth, and genetic data to provide introduction analysis, variety recommendations, and filing procedures.
The nearly 3,000-square-meter greenhouse in the park produces 2.5 million vegetable seedlings a year, with automated logistics beds and linked irrigation. An automatic grafting machine handles 1,000 tomato seedlings per hour with a survival rate above 95 percent, while a robot also patrols the hydroponic area, collecting growth data and issuing early warnings for pests and diseases.
