At the 2026 World Internet Conference's CPOPwave Immersive Group Portrait Exhibition, wooden toy characters from Yunhe county in Lishui, including Yuntu Moom and Panda Moom, proved popular.
They stood alongside popular Chinese cultural brands from film, games, online literature, animation, other toys, and cards. CPOPwave, initiated by China Media Group, focuses on global communication of popular Chinese culture.
Yuntu Moom, which was launched in 2023, has developed into a complete cultural and creative product ecosystem. Panda Moom continues to lead a healing China-chic style, combines the panda image with Yunhe's wooden toy crafts — an intangible cultural heritage — and strengthens AIGC design.
AI is used to connect character creation, derivative development, and online communication, building an open ecosystem for co-creation. The booth displayed wooden carvings, music boxes, themed blind boxes, and wooden play sets, with stamp-collecting and hand-drawing activities.
During the exhibition, international guests expressed interest in the wooden pieces. A guest from the United States praised the concept of combining traditional woodcraft with the image of pandas.
Meng Jie from Yunhe Agritourism Investment Yunchuangxiang Co, said the name Moom comes from wood in the Five Elements, a reference to Yunhe's status as China's wooden-toy city. She said she expected Yunhe's wooden toys would spread to global markets through cultural innovation and digital tools.
