Jinhua city lies in the central area of East China's Zhejiang province, with nine railways and 11 expressways under its administration – and Jinhua and Yiwu stations run 462 high-speed trains every day, which reach 21 provincial capitals.

The city is continuing to build high-standard railways and intercity expressways, such as the Jinhua-Yiwu east rail transit and the Jinhua-Yiwu central avenue, to create a national transport hub.

Solid economic foundation

Jinhua is widely recognized as the birthplace of the private economy in Zhejiang and there are large numbers of market players, with 1.27 million registered business entities, ranking it second in the province.

It also has multiple physical markets, including 18 industrial clusters with an annual output valued at more than 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) and 29 State-level industrial bases. It has 337 markets of all kinds, including 91 with an annual turnover of more than 100 million yuan and five with an annual turnover of more than 10 billion yuan. It is home to the Yiwu International Trade Market, Yongkang Hardware City and the world of films and television – Hengdian World Studios.

Among the city's industrial clusters with annual output of 10 billion yuan, are automobile and parts manufacturing, hardware, textiles and medicine. Two out of every three burglarproof doors in China are made in Jinhua and one out of every three Chinese TV series is shot in the city. All of its counties and county-level cities have been included in the top 100 counties (county-level cities) list for e-commerce in China.

In 2020, Jinhua's online retail sales reached 359.12 billion yuan and its cross-border online retail exports accounted for 47.43 percent of the province's and during the same period the city's total volume of express deliveries was ranked first in China. Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent and other internet giants all had business in Jinhua.

Highland of reform and opening up

Jinhua has more than 100 national and provincial reform pilot projects and the Jinhua and Yiwu area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone was approved by the State Council, China's Cabinet, in 2020.

Relying on the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight train, the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan cargo channel and cross-border e-commerce platforms, Jinhua has established trade relations with 232 countries and regions – and exports to 80 of them have topped 1 billion yuan each. Its total export volumes and its export to countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative rank second and first, respectively, in Zhejiang province.

At present, the city is actively participating in the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and is integrating with the construction of the G60 Science and Innovation Corridor.

Pristine ecology, environment

Jinhua is quite literally a massive garden in the middle of Zhejiang province and the forest coverage rate of the region administered by the city is 61 percent. It has won the Dayu Award – a provincial award for water conservation – six consecutive years. In addition, it also has the best drinking water in the province and has been placed nine times on the national top 10 livable cities list in China.

The city has five national scenic spots, one national 5A-level scenic area, 20 national 4A-level scenic areas, five provincial scenic spots and seven provincial tourist resort areas. It has been rated as China's excellent tourist city and the city with the most potential for tourism development in the country.
