Located 60 kilometers north of Vienna, Hollabrunn is the capital and central city of the largest wine-growing region in Austria, as well as the political, economic, and cultural center of the region. It covers an area of 152 square kilometers, with a population of more than 50,000 and an urban population of nearly 10,000.

With its economy based mostly on agriculture and food processing, the city is famous for the wine it produces. It also boasts a well-developed educational system.

Its partnership with Jinhua began in August 1998. In September 2000, with the approval of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the two sides signed an agreement on the establishment of sister city relations.

Since then, the two sides have carried out frequent exchanges and cooperation in viticulture, wine making, medical treatment, culture, education, sports, and more.
