Originating from Pujiang county – administered by Jinhua city in East China's Zhejiang province – Pujiang Luantan is an ancient traditional opera genre, whose cultural influence extends throughout Zhejiang and most parts of Jiangxi and Fujian provinces. It is one of the main tones of Wuju Opera.

Pujiang Luantan is based on the local ballad the Cailanqu, which is also known as Tage. It has free-flowing tunes and variegated lyrics and is mainly used for weddings, funerals and worship activities. It became popular among the people of Pujiang in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
