Wuzhou Juyan Tea grows at the top of Shuanglong Cave in Beishan Mountain – in Jinhua city, Zhejiang province. It is named after "Wuzhou", Jinhua's name in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (907-960).

Wuzhou Juyan Tea was first produced in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and reached its peak in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

Most Wuzhou Juyan Tea grows in rocky crevices or hill slopes and is usually picked around April 5-20. It takes about 60,000 buds and leaves to produce 1,000 grams of dry tea.

The beverage has a strong flavor, sweet taste and is rich in nutrition. It contains tea tannins, protein and many other substances that are beneficial to the human body – giving it a high medicinal value.
