Jinhua's foreign trade hits $47.7b in first seven months

In the first seven months of the year, Jinhua city's imports and exports were worth 309.34 billion yuan ($47.7 billion), up 17 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Jinhua customs authorities. 

Breaking down the numbers, exports in Jinhua – located in East China's Zhejiang province – totaled 283.15 billion yuan, up 12.1 percent year-on-year, while imports came in at 26.19 billion yuan, up 123.8 percent. 

In July alone, the city's foreign trade was worth 49.37 billion yuan, of which exports were 44.66 billion yuan and imports were 4.71 billion yuan.

For the January to July period, the United States, EU, ASEAN countries and India were the city's top four export markets, worth 41.13 billion yuan, 38.63 billion yuan, 29.39 billion yuan and 9.97 billion yuan, respectively.

Mechanical and electrical products, clothing, plastic products and textiles were the main export commodities, worth 124.6 billion yuan, 25.15 billion yuan, 23.57 billion yuan and 20.09 billion yuan, respectively.

Agricultural products, unwrought copper and copper materials – as well as mechanical and electrical products and textiles – were the main imported commodities.

Trade in them was worth 10.2 billion yuan, 4.45 billion yuan, 3.55 billion yuan and 2.2 billion yuan, respectively – accounting for 77.9 percent of the value of the city's total imports during the period.
