The most common snack is mai bing, or salty pies. The pie – stuffed with pumpkins, turnips, preserved vegetables, toufu and pork – is one of the most well-known snacks in Pujiang. The taste is oily but not greasy, making it delicious and refreshing. Another kind of mai bing tastes sweet, with sugar and sesame fillings.

Tofu skin, a unique snack in Pujiang, is as delicate as tallow and as thin as paper. It is smooth, bright and tough, but not brittle. It can be cooked and eaten on its own, or can also be used to make other dishes.
