Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province has helped Wensu county in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region promote rural revitalization, winning recognition from the National Development and Reform Commission, local media reported on Dec 3.

Wensu county in Aksu, Xinjiang is a border county with 90,000 hectares of fruit. Its unique climate breeds high-quality agricultural products such as walnuts, apples, red jujube and pears.

Although blessed with abundant high-quality agricultural products, the long distance from the major markets, poor transportation infrastructure and limited sales channels make it difficult for local farmers to improve their lot.

Since it established the pairing assistance relationship with Wensu county, Jinhua has taken full advantages of its large markets and digital economy to expand sales channels and improve product competitiveness.

The city has taken measures such as promoting online and offline sales, organizing bulk purchases from the base, improving the industrial chain and holding promotional events

From January to October this year, the sale of Xinjiang fruits to eastern regions hit a new high. The total sales of agricultural products reached 131,000 tons with a value of 1.36 billion yuan ($213 million), exceeding the full-year number for 2020.
