Jinhua hosts conference to encourage development of private economy

Jinhua authorities in East China's Zhejiang province hosted a high-profile conference themed on the development of the city's private economy on Feb 8.

The conference called on local officials to focus on six tasks to foster greater development in this area.

The first task is to improve the construction of characteristic industrial clusters.

The second task is to consolidate the city's conventional strength in the textile and garment and the hardware manufacturing industries, as well as make breakthroughs in the development of the photoelectric, automobile, equipment manufacture, and biomedicine industries.

The third task is to advance digitization reform and promote the application of digital technologies in the manufacturing sectors.

The fourth task is to attract more investors and ensure that the total investment in the city's manufacturing sectors reaches 44 billion yuan ($6.9 billion) in 2022.

The fifth task is to improve the research power of the city's scientific institutes and promote an innovation-driven economic development mode.

The sixth task is to design favorable policies that reward outstanding local manufacturers and ensure that the total prize money reaches 11 billion yuan in 2022, 15 percent higher than in 2021.
