Jinhua in Zhejiang province will build a new ecological park called Jinhua Lishuyuan Forest Park, according to a recent announcement.

The forest park covers a total area of 1,190.56 hectares, with a forest coverage rate of about 99.78 percent. Xiwu, located in the north of the park, is the source of the Jiufeng Reservoir, which belongs to the upper reaches of the Qujiang River in the Qiantang River System.

According to the plan, construction on the forest park will be carried out from 2022 to 2031.

The first stage of construction will be completed by 2026. With a total of 7.24 million yuan ($1.14 million) in investment, the project will consist of six parts, including a 4,500-meter walking path for package tours, a hostel, and a cultural venue for folk art. The park is expected to receive 82,000 tourists by the end of the year.

The second stage of construction will be carried out from 2027-31. A total of 30.37 million yuan will be used to improve the surrounding transit system and build a forest culture exhibition center, a wild botanical garden, a tourist center and a smart system for tourism interpretation and monitoring.
