The Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, ranked 39th in the 2021 Top 100 Chinese Think Tank List of the recently released Global Think Tank Impact Evaluation Report.

This is the third time the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University has been included in the list. The institute also ranked 8th for think tank construction work among Chinese colleges and universities.

According to the 2021 Global Think Tank Impact Evaluation Report, Chinese think tanks in the new era should innovate based on tradition, put forward original and independent discourse concepts and knowledge theories based on practice in order to teach the world about China and teach China about the world.

The Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University, established in 2007, has been committed to advocating the development of original "African studies" with Chinese characteristics. It works to build its own communication platforms, create international cooperation platforms such as the "China-Africa Think Tank Forum", and develop working resources in Africa.

The institute has signed 36 cooperation agreements with 17 African countries and established a branch in South Africa in order to better study and understand Africa.

It is one of the two think tanks built by Chinese universities to make the list of the "World's Best Regional Research Centers of the Year (University Affiliated)" by the University of Pennsylvania for five consecutive years.
